ABOUT ME

My husband and I quit our jobs, sold EVRYTHING and hit the road in January 2007.

Original plan: ride our motorcycles from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. Plans changed due to me wrecking my moto and breaking both of my arms. Part finished: Prudhoe Bay to Seattle.

Plan B: Take our Jeep across the US, then into Mexico and south all the way to Argentina. Plans changed after the US part of the journey due to my former boss asking me to take a short job in Italy. Part finished: US tour.

Plan C: Europe. We found ourselves in Italy with only 3 days notice and decided to stay a while. We took Italian classes and lived in Florence then toured around to Croatia, Montenegro, Ireland (another one week job), Greece, and Turkey.

Plan D: (Current) Back to the US to find a little home-base and then continue traveling.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently traveling the world to learn about different people, cultures, and traditions. Meeting people in other countries who are willing to talk with strangers about their countries traditions, beliefs and culture is invaluable. Just touring around is not enough!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a voracious reader. I like mystery, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, contemporary fiction, travel journals, memoirs, classic literature - it all depends on my mood at the time. All time favorite series: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon.

I love movies, but have eclectic taste - I can't really keep it to one category. Some favorites: Fight Club, Shaun of the Dead, Steel Magnolias, Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Naa Ho, True Lies.

Music - again, really eclectic, from Gaelic Storm to Pink to Gypsy Kings to trance and electronica - I like a bit of everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have ben skydiving 11 times and every time I was scared to death when it came time to jump, but OH THE FEELING of flying and the silence under the chute!
