Hi, my name is Nyala. I'm Dutch, but I grew up in France (Strasbourg!) and Germany, so I feel more European than anything else ^^ After completing high school in France, I moved to the Netherlands for my undergrad, which was an amazing time. I went to the University College in Utrecht, and then did my master in Amsterdam. Utrecht was amazing, and I would like to go back to live there some day. But so is my hometown, Strasbourg! we are famous for our cathedrale, the European Parliament, and our christmas markets!
I'm currently doing my PhD in Computer Science at Cardiff University.
I met some amazing people via my PhD, as well as through couchsurfing! Lucie is the one who introduced me to couchsurfing, and my agenda has been filled with events ever since :p I really like to try new things; I recently got introduced to yoga, couchsurfing, and if everything goes well, I’ll try Zumba for the first time pretty soon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a great way to get to know the international community here in Cardiff. It would also be a great resource, once I start travelling again :)

Music, Movies, and Books

In my free time, I like to read, although with my PhD, I don’t read as much as I would like to. My favourite genre are mystery/thrillers and history novels. The best are a combination of all three! I’m currently reading ‘All the light we cannot see’ by Anthony Doerr.
