ABOUT ME
Low maintenance. My homebase is New York, but I go through phases where I find myself traveling a lot. May be rolling through Eastern Europe this year - see you in Budapest?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have hosted some people, and surfed a bit. Also have been an active host/participant in old school couchsurfing for a while.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In addition to the experiences I've had with Couchsurfing on this site, which have been mostly great - one fun story I guess is when I ran into a guy from Nova Scotia at an acting workshop. He asked me about hostels in town, and we were like "f*%k that, you're staying with us!" He stayed for a couple days, was a great houseguest, superfun guy. Worst story - a college friend wanted to crash as he was 'passing through', ended up staying for weeks, finally had to kick him out. I'm low maintenance, but that got pretty old.

Teach, Learn, Share
If you're thinking about exploring New York's performance scene, I'm not a bad place to start. Have lived here for more than 15 years and have attended and worked in the arts here and elsewhere as much as I could all the while. I'll help you find the good bands in the dingy bars. Or the jazz clubs. You want to hit a basement theater for something experimental? I'm on it. Prefer a Broadway recommendation? You're covered. Restaurants? Hells yes. Galleries and museums - yup. Know about a bunch of the discounts too, if you're watching your wallet.
Also - kind of random - things like free kayaking on the river, tennis courts, good walking routes through town, etc.
