We are a fun female kiwi married couple living in paradise with 7 dogs and 2 miniature horses. We are looking for cool people to homestay/home Help with immediate availability. We live just outside a town called Warkworth. Warkworth is 45 minutes drive north of Auckland CBD. To clarify we are not just hosting Couchsurfing, it’s more of a Woofing arrangement so only request if that would be cool with you :-)

We are Jasmine who is 39 and Sharyn who is 42. We enjoy a wide range of activities including: bushwalks, boating, art, cycling, playing board games, video games and much more. One of us smokes green daily for migraine/arthritis relief/fun and one of us is a cigerette smoker. We smoke green inside ( not where your room is ). Sharyn is a dog groomer from home and Jasmine stays at home mostly with chronic illness but on some good days does voluntary work. We are young at heart, crazy in a good way and love cooking. One of us is vegan, so on your 5 days on, the food provided is vegan. Refer to further below about your day/s off :-D

We have 7 dogs which are: Chihuahua, Griffon/Minpin and Chipins. They are all friendly and so sweet, some just take a little bit to warm up to you. Being a dog lover is absolutely essential. We also have 5 chickens and 2 miniature horses.

Our home is a small social 3 bedroom home. Our property is a lifestyle property with a few paddocks sometimes with sheep and a beautiful landscape. There is so much bird life around and they sound so pretty. There are many beautiful nature walks and stunning beaches nearby such as: Omaha Beach, Pakiri Beach, Goat Island, Tawharanui Peninsula, Dome Valley walk and so on.

The sleeping situation is sometimes a mattress on floor in the entertainment room, so semi private or when available ( most of the time ) a private room with double bed. Keeping your room tidy at all times is a must and is to be done outside of your work hours.

The spring work situation is 3 hours a day, 5 days on, then a day off. You provide your own food, our house it strictly vegetarian/vegan.

Work can be any of the following when needed: dog walking, cleaning dog accidents, sometimes dog minding when we go away, training sessions, grooming the horses, cleaning up horse deposits, cleaning chicken area, house cleaning, car grooming, gardening, lawn mowing, home renovations inside and or out. Most of the work however is usually gardening/weeding outside and the care of the dogs.

We are looking for: ages 18-45, be tidy, self motivated and social. It is important that you will be keen to play loads of Boardgames with us :)

How to get to us: We are happy to come pick you up and drop you off if you can pay for gas. Otherwise there is a bus schedule that commutes to and from Auckland. To get to that bus, you walk along our road for 45 minutes or we can also collect you from Warkworth if we are able :)

There is plenty of off street parking.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted many many people. Over the years this equates to making some awesome new friends, being inspired in so many ways and also creating a bunch of memories. For many guests, I've shown them awesome adventures including going on great bush walks, boating excursions, beach trips and some have been to our holiday home too!

I have also surfed a few times for very short periods, my hosts were kind and the stays were pleasant.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had many couch surfers stay and I enjoy the whole experience.

I have to say we have had a handful of surfers who I have gone out of my way to go above and beyond the average hosting experience and they have not left me feedback and or have left minimal feedback. Please remember to leave descriptive feedback :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a variety of music, my fav is hiphop and EDM.

My fav movies are comedies, CGI, lesbian themed and film festival type get-ups. I also like most New Zealand films, and I have a decent collection of New Zealand films, so may be able to watch some.

My fav authors are Roald Dahl, Mitch Albom and John Dimartini. My fav book just now is Super Freakonomics. However, I’m not actually a big reader.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I cycled across America in 1997, when I was at a boarding school in Massachussetts.

I cycled 4500 miles, in 9 weeks, starting from The coast at San Diego and finishing at the Coast in Boston. And we tipped a bottle of sand there, that we had collected from San Diego.

I vote that lemons are a real blessing! One should eat them, squeeze them and any thing else getting thier bitter sweet goodness out and into the belly :P
