..don't have too many stereotypes or preconceptions about parts of society. Amazed how people look at things from different angles.
..and hoping to have the same attitude from others when I need help :)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Had fantastic support from people all over the world when I traveled so I'm happy to give back to this community.

What I am totally not interested in - chatting with people who explore the world from their couch with no intention of really going out. I'm not here in CS to chat, but to meet and support travelers.
Btw, this has never meant to be a dating app :-D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In 2008 I met one European Voluntary Service participant from Germany, Björn. He became my first foreign friend and our friendship continues even now.
In summer of 2009 he and his girlfriend visited Latvia again for Latvian solstice fest "Jāņi". As they needed place to stay - I offered my flat because I knew I can trust him. :) Neither person of my family could be in town those days so I gave him key and they stayed there alone.
I was quite worried how will they feel there. And actually - later he said that this was a big big shock for him that I gave him all my house, such a big trust and hospitality from my side..
.... and I can say that since then I am Couchsurfer.

Nowadays I have lots of acquaintances from different projects and sport competitions where I had been participating (Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, Germany, ..). So I know how great it is to meet open-minded people :) And I think that I can participate in this community too.
