About Me
Hey there, friendly stranger!
My name is Oshadha, but my friends call me Shadi (Shah-dee). I'm a University student by day, and a cat enthusiast/Renaissance woman by night. I am also a gemini vegetarian (#legallyblonde #bendandsnap). I love to write and draw and create, and I find that that works best when I take the time to appreciate the tiny things that occur around me; a lost tag on a beach, a wave from a stranger, the light of the morning...
I also like cliches, Asian food and meeting new people - I love that having a conversation with someone can tell you so much about them. I find that people are easy to get on with if you are, too, so - let's be friends? :')

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted to study at the University of Cambridge - I didn't care what, I didn't care when, I just knew that it needed to happen.
When I was in Year 12, I suffered a bereavement and was diagnosed with an illness that caused chronic fatigue, so was unable to get the grades I wanted to study at Cambridge. However, I made an effort to improve my health and decided to do Year 13 to improve my grades - that year, I was offered an interview to study Medicine at The University of Cambridge.
Unfortunately, I didn't receive an offer - I wasn't too upset, though, because I received an offer to study at Adelaide instead - it really was a "shoot for the moon - even if you miss, you'll land among the stars" story! :D
Despite not achieving my dream (yet!), I am so proud of myself for all the hard work I put in to get as far as I did. To be walking around Cambridge purely because I had a dream and strived for it was the most gratifying thing I have ever experienced. It also helped that I was (and remain to this day) a massive anglophile; walking around Cambridge was like walking around in a dream. It is my favourite place in the world, and, after this experience, it probably always will be.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know how to braid hair reasonably well - fishtail braids, french braids, halo braids, ALL THE BRAIDS. I would love to teach you. That is basically all I can do, teaching wise. I'm also alright at pop-culture and winged eyeliner.
I would love to learn more languages + about the languages that I am learning, if you're willing to teach me :D
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love photography, and am actually reasonably good at it - I would love to take some portrait photography for you, if you would like.
I could also write you a poem, but I feel as if that would be less pleasant for everyone involved :P The same goes for my cooking.
I'm an excellent storyteller, and would love to share some of the tales of the wacky characters I've met throughout my life. I have also been told that I have excellent ears, and would love to hear about your life.
Also, the cheese factor: I would be able to offer you my friendship. :-)
Countries I’ve Visited
England, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka
