About Me

CURRENT MISSION

DESTROY ALL BOREDOM

ABOUT ME

I used to study bat viruses and dengue fever, but now I'm drifting through the great expanse of the United States of America! I really enjoy WWOOFing and meeting new friends. People tell me that I smile a lot and have too much music on my iPod. I love talking about science, music, disc golf, travel, culture, food/cooking, drumming, and books. I try to read as much as possible and whenever possible, to discuss the books afterwards with other people who have read them. I feel like there's so much exciting stuff in this world, the trick is just figuring out where it is and how to get to it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had an awesome time surfing with Matthias D. in Berlin!

Interests

I love new things! Ideas I've never thought about before, new places to visit, new food to try, all of these are super exciting to me. In particular, I spend a lot of time thinking about drumming, viruses, Vietnamese food, my never-ending reading list, and disc golf.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To me, Cancun, Mexico was a very empty and touristy place. I didn't fall in love with it and probably wouldn't go back....however, while I was there and feeling frustrated with the towering hotels I took a midnight walk on the beach and was shocked and awed to find sea turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs! Massive shapes were painstakingly lumbering out of the surf and digging pits in the sand. My finding them was completely unplanned and I stood silently next to these huge, beautiful turtles feeling so happy to find life and serenity in the middle of artificiality and money.
