About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am currently on a journey to figure out what I want to do with my life, where I want to live, who I want to love. I know its a life long process but I still would like to build a foundation which I can work from in the future.

ABOUT ME

I love walking around a new place and really getting a feel for the people and the atmosphere. I also have discovered I love the ocean and the type of people who are drawn to it.

PHILOSOPHY

I am not bound by any cultural or ideological norms; I believe that we can each learn something about ourselves as human beings if we acknowledge the diversity of viewpoints around the point and protect their right to exist. I travel because I get to learn and challenge how I see myself and others and hopefully continue to evolve.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I loved hosting and surfing, but due to a new Peace Corps policy we are not allowed to host anymore. So at the moment I can only meet up for coffee and such.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have gotten what I wanted participating in the couch surfing community. Meeting wonderful people with interesting perspectives and challenging myself to trust and relate to people that I would never normally meet. I believe that we are all citizens of the world and we all need to get practice with being more a global community; respecting and living with each other around the world.

Interests

Hiking, wildlife, dancing, music, great films, excellent food, cooking, bright fabrics and clothes and forcing myself to realize that I need to appreciate each moment in my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love lots of different kinds of musics and such. I have been on a documentary binge for the last couple of years. I love dance and watching dancers perform and classical music highlighted in a visual medium. I have a special place in my heart for the classic African American and African writers. I really liked some of the classics we had to read in school as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

White Water Rafting in Jinja, Uganda ( eating pineapples on the river)! Rafting on the Zambezi River. Looking at Table Mountain and Robin Island from up high, skydiving. Almost overturning on the sand dunes of Namibia. Getting into arms length of an elephant and just both appreciating the silence and stillness of the moment. Purple/Pink sunsets over the Chobezi River kissing Namibia and the backs of wildlife. Wild dogs just being playful and awesome. The wonderful rock canyons of Nevada and Colorado. Small moments sometimes in nature sometimes in the pulse of a crowd that make you appreciate life and your small place in it.
