About Me

Curious cat, book worm, wild horse and dreamer.

Three ongoing dreams:

1. I would like to visit every country in the world twice. The first time to explore a bit, the second time to enjoy it with my affectionate fellows.

Since little I wanted so bad to join TCC
(a club that requires 100+ visited countries for membership)
before I am 30. As I worked hard and have some lucks, now it's 58/100.

2. I dream to accomplish the greatest novel ever in the world.

So far I have achieved something easier: I keep posting travel stories on a popular Internet forum in Taiwan and each post attracts around 25k hits and 1k comments. It's not yet a big deal, but I hope I am on the track.

3. This wish is the hardest. I will tell you when we meet :)

Having founded the biggest language club in Taiwan, I am a passionate language learner and teacher. In years of learning I claim to have discovered a single most efficient way possible to learn any tongues, and I enjoy "living" a language far more than speaking it.

Never been a rich person so far, but fortunately I have worked or traveled in quite some different countries around the world to satisfy my endless curiosity. Some less common adventures include North Korea, Mongolia, Iran, some part of Western Africa and north polar. The idea that people enjoy their lives in numerous ways enchant me so much!

I love languages, stories, know-how lifehacks, novels, poetry, maps, adventures, emotional songs and anything that livens up our short but promising life. Also, I am a good listener and learner. If you would love to share anything, I am always looking forward to it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2009, I joined a traditional music festival in Portugal, where I met this 70-year-old singer Costa, then escort volunteer in our group. Every day he presented me Portuguese dishes and customs with immense humor and knowledge. He also taught me how to speak and sing in Portuguese.

On the day that I meant to depart, we sang a song together in a huge crowded park. When the song finished, we couldn't help dropping tears.

He wanted me to promise back and I did with all my heart. That was the first time I was truly moved by a foreign friendship.

Since then I stayed in Portugal 6 times and met many other nice people via Costa the singer, many nice Portuguese people, and amazing CS!

Interests

Years ago my friend told me he found the best, the fastest way ever to learn any languages. He dares the claim as he owns 20 C1 certificates in languages. I adopted his methods ever since and became more and more into it, and a year ago I founded a private language school in Taiwan, using pure movie script as teaching materials.

The reaction was incredible. If acquiring languages is your cup of tea, I think we are supposed to have a lot to share with.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

* A 10-year veteran in Taiwanese Traditional Music band. I play bamboo flute mostly.

* Volunteered in São Tomé e Príncipe, western Africa in 2012.

* Founded a language club in National Taiwan University with hundreds of language enthusiasts. BIG TIME FUN every single week!

* Ran naked within the polar circle after losing a bet. They kept a photo and claimed to show it on my future wedding.

Teach, Learn, Share

* Everything about languages. I'm especially into funny colloquial expressions, doing foreign accents and speed learning.

*Been to 300+ cities with extremely low budget. I would be happy to share some travel hacks if my ghetto traveling style seems alright to you.

* I received a six-month massage training in a licensed workshop. Your shoulders are feeling rigid? At your service!

* I love Chinese calligraphy. Maybe you'd be curious about how would your name look in Mandarin?
