ABOUT ME

I am Augustine Baptiste. Everyone considers me funny. I grew up appreciating life in Saint Lucia. I love the islands, the beaches, the sites. We have a dormant volcano, its lovely. It is the world's only drive-in volcano and inside there are springs. It is called Sulfur Springs. But I love the simplicity of Saint Lucia. It's small with so much to do. I love it and wouldn't trade it for anywhere else.

PHILOSOPHY

Well my philosophy is to never die before you die you understand. Live your life to the fullest no matter what the problem is. I mean where I live everyone wakes up early morning clean their houses. You can see them through their windows. Then they come outside with smiles and good mornings and how is your day. But when you look into their lives they have problems. But a problem is only as big as you make it. Even though you're going to die tomorrow, it's not that big of a problem if you appreciate living today. And that's my philosophy, thats what I believe.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well my couch is open. and you guys are going to have fun trust me. Its like paradise. I think I'm helping to relieve lots of stress. It's impossible to be stressed on my couch, and St Lucia is near Martiniue so we can go on a boat ride to Martinique that should take like fifteen minutes on a good day and half on hour on a bad one.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well this is a new website but I've had family come visit me. It was fun ofcourse. I have a beach in the back of my house. Cool huh. Saint Lucia is so small. We went to the Sulfur Springs

I love country and western, I like R&B, slow music, classic etc.... I must say my favorite author has to be H.G. Wells. I like comedies, I love to laugh.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every Saturday there is a Fish Feista about a quarter mile away from my home. All different types of fishes on the grill. There is chicken and much more food. BET Jazz for locals. You can eat fresh veges and fruits, bakes and chicken by the beach at night time. There is what we call Square. During Square locals play their music people dance, DJ's play music. It's by the beach so its beautiful. There are fireworks going on and lights. It is beautiful. During the summer, like July there is Carnival which is big in St. Lucia. There are churches and schools nearby my home. I live in the village its nice.

Teach, Learn, Share

In Saint Lucia tourists are very appreciated because thats where the largest amount of money comes from. But to visit St Lucia and really, seriously understand the beauty of it, you have to become one like everyone else. Hotels are all alike and very expensive. There is no point in visiting a different place if you're going to stay in the same luxury as your own town's hotels, you understand. So on my couch you can live in luxury if you'd like or go to the forest, go to the beaches, rivers, the Pitons (the mountains).
