About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Long term thinking.

ABOUT ME

I am a musician and recent Art and Philosophy grad. Living the stationary life in South SF Bay for over a year got my feet cold so for 2011 I decided to drop everything and roll out. Originally the trip was of "indefinite length", but now 5 months into the trip, I have finally opted to return home to see family and apply to art schools. Having already toured the northern route on my way east, the south will be my route this time around. Asheville, Atlanta, New Orleans, Austin, Taos, Flagstaff... Prepare yourselves! I'd love to meet you!

Interests

Music, video, and design. I very much enjoy conversation on culture, philosophy, technology, and the state of the world in general. I've been known to enjoy a good few drinks while conversing until dawn.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly listen to music and watch movies. Here's a little taste

Brian Eno, Radiohead, Pavement, Caribou, The Books, My Bloody Valentine, Boards of Canada, Burial, Gang of Four, David Bowie, Flaming Lips, Joy Division&New Order, Stars of the Lid, Grouper, Tears for Fears, Luomo, Pink Floyd, The Clean, Yo La Tengo, Animal Collective, Talk Talk, Kraftwerk, The Replacements, The National, obviously The Beatles..

The Departed, Memento, Blade Runner, Eternal Sunshine, Apocalypse Now, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Lawrence of Arabia, Touching the Void, Fight Club, Motorcycle Diaries

I also watch lots of music documentaries (Hype!, I am trying to break your heart, Depeche Mode 101, The Future is Unwritten, etc.) and heavy doses of National Geographic and BBC documentaries when my roommate's Netflix account is left for my disposal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time in Sun Valley ID, my older brother and his friend asked the band who had just finished playing the bar we were in if I could get up and jam on their guitar. My brother's friend insisted he knew how to play the drums and could therefore jam with me. I very reluctantly agreed, nervously (and drunkedly) got up on stage with him, and started jamming some blues to the biggest (packed) bar in town. I waited for my brother's friend to come in with the drums and give a little support for the music, but after three rockin attempts to give him a lead-in he raised his hands and gave me a funny smirk -- he had lied about knowing how to play so he could get me up on stage. Just then a bar employee shut the amp off as we were uninvited and it was past their noise curfew. Then I proceeded to walk off stage as the crowd booed the bar employee for taking me off.
