About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Not now I'm dancing...
ABOUT ME
I am a very open-minded introverted extrovert (aka ambivert). I am equally at home on a festival dance floor, on a canoe in the middle of a lake or curled up with a good book and a furry friend. I am rediscovering my love for solo travel and am in search of new experiences, new friends and new stories. I am a writer, storyteller and performer. I love the strange, the obscure and the unusual. I don't like to plan too far in advance, I prefer to experience the world in a spontaneous and impulsive manner. I love meeting new people, sharing stories and world views and constantly broadening my perspectives.
PHILOSOPHY
Be here now
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am currently unable to host as I am in a nomad state of traveling. I don't just want to breeze through the places I visit. I want to absorb the culture - the people, the food, the architecture. I think that staying with locals is the best and quickest way to dive into any new environment.
I try to attend CS events wherever I'm traveling. It is by far the best way to meet like minded individuals who share my passion for exploring the world. So far I have participated in CS events in Lisbon (several weekly meetings over the course of a month), London (every Tuesday if I'm in town), Athens (led me to one of the highest points in Athens to look at Saturn and the stars through a telescope) and Lille (Sunday brunch which evolved into an all day affair of sampling Belgian beers).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have Couchsurfed in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Portugal and Ireland.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is essential to life. Dancing is my life force.
All time favourites include (in no particular order): Tame Impala, Future Islands, OTT, Joni Mitchell, Fever Ray, The Knife, Kate Bush, The Magnetic Fields, The National, Sleater-Kinney, Simon & Garfunkel, Joy Division, New Order, Sonic Youth, Talking Heads, The XX, Interpol, Al Green, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, INXS, Depeche Mode, Edith Piaf, David Bowie, ELO; pretty much anything in the genres of 80s synth pop, Motown and Funk.
Currently loving: PSYTRANCE (Ozora 2018, here I come)

I love watching movies and my tastes are all over the place. I love a good blockbuster action movie or Hollywood comedy but am just as happy watching a bleak foreign film. Anything and everything. Currently watching mostly documentaries.
I never go anywhere without a book. I love post modern literature and critical theory but am perfectly happy reading trash fiction as well.
Currently reading: The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton
Recent reads: Food of the Gods by Terence McKenna, The Power of Now by Eckart Tolle
Some favourites: To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee), Demian (Herman Hesse), Heart of Darkness (Joseph Conrad), The Bell Jar (Sylvia Plath), The Fountainhead (Ayn Rand), East of Eden (John Steinbeck), Fall on Your Knees and The Way the Crow Flies (Ann-Marie MacDonald), Catch-22 (Joseph Heller), Cat's Cradle (Kurt Vonnegut - really anything by him), One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Ken Kesey), Wide Sargasso Sea (Jean Rhys), Middlesex (Jeffrey Eugenides), Never Let Me Go (Kazuo Ishiguro), Cat's Eye (Margaret Atwood), She's Come Undone (Wally Lamb), American Psycho (Brett Easton Ellis), Break It Down (Lydia Davis), The Glass Castle (Jeanette Walls), Black Hole (Charles Burns), Girl in Need of a Tourniquet (Merri Lisa Johnson), Katzenjammer: Soon To Be A Major Motion Picture (Jackson Tippett McCrae)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Took care of my father through some health issues for two years and then packed everything up and moved to Europe with no concrete plans whatsoever.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm eager to learn cooking techniques from around the world and to see how different climates inform different cultures.
Happy to share meditation, wellness and yoga techniques.
Reiki share, anyone?
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook for other people and am always on the hunt for new recipes and ideas. I'd be happy to make you dinner or share some of my cooking knowledge.
Always down to share stories and wax philosophic on the ways of the world.
Dance party, anyone?
