About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Finishing my phd without losing my sanity and health.
ABOUT ME
I can only hope that I'm open minded and easy-going person. I like meeting new people; learning from them, sharing my food with them, stealing food from them.
I spent my childhood and teenage years across Turkey in several cities. Then I moved to chaotic and messy Istanbul in 2007 and lived there for 6 years before coming to France to pursue a Masters degree, I finally stayed here for my PhD.
PHILOSOPHY
Sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To help people in need of place to stay. I also find It useful to get to know people easier.
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I first started hanging out with CS people in Lille and convinced them to buy me Belgian beer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed for the first time in mid July 2014. Since 2015, we have been hosting CSers in our big flat with my vegan, beer brewer and musician flatmates. My flatmate Remi has more free time than I do to organize the visits, and the "official" host is usually him but we share the workload.
Interests
Aeroacoustics, history of music, literature
I always find Human sciences fascinating, but my interest is on the level of a layman.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies of Martin Scorsese and Coen Brothers,
L.F Celine, Philip Roth, J.D. Sallinger and Kurt Vonnegut are my favorite writers.
I like listening all sort of music, as long as I like it :) Some artists I appreciate:
The Velvet Underground, CCR, Nick Drake,The Clash, The Stone Roses, Canned Heat, The Allman Brothers, Arcade Fire, Pavement, Pixies, Modest Mouse
, My bloody valentine, Slowdive, CAN, Colour Haze.
I've watched many series but these are the ones which never bores me to watch again and again:
Black Books, Arrested Development,Seinfeld, and crème de la crème The Wire.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching the nightsky in Grand Canyon
Teach, Learn, Share
Lately learning french, french culture and history, and drumming. I have started reading philosophy vigorously, and I have to admit it is challenging to do as an auto-didact.
I am not greatest teacher you would find in the market, but I can teach you rocket science (it's fairly simple, all you need to know is one equation really). Other than that I am probably the one who is likely to be at the receiver end.
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland
Countries I’ve Lived In
