About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Never be bored.

ABOUT ME

Come one, all.

My mom says I have eagle eyes and a photographic memory. Neither thing is remotely true.

As far as things which are true: I love injuring myself via bicycle and know how to use a semicolon. I split time between raucous dance venues and folksy crooners. My fondest moments tend to involve cool fall nights and evading Park Police. I'm a pretty recent transplant to Lancaster, but I'm quickly learning the ins and outs of this town.

PHILOSOPHY

Be excited, or at least excitable. Like everything. Have preferences, but no prejudices. You must be able to find enjoyment in every situation. Or you are lame.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If you host me, I will do absolutely anything you recommend as cool (and I'll enjoy it). When I'm in a new city there are a couple options: I can go to Trip Advisor and sort by rating to see what other transients thought was worthwhile, or I can ask someone who lives that city every day.

If I host you, I'll try to return the favor.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experience with CS in particular is limited, but having people crash at my place is nothing remotely new. I've only surfed through the site a couple times on a road trips, and I hope to restore the karmic balance by hosting here in Lancaster.

Interests

Taking life very seriously; the comical juxtaposition of antitheses.
Exploring the boundaries of dancing etiquette in live music settings.
Bike polo, bike non-polo, disc golf, roofs, coozies, portable food, the stars, and any combination of the above.

Music, Movies, and Books

Since moving to Lancaster I've grown to appreciate the charm of "what the hell it's only five bucks" concerts at the art co-op. No longer having the luxury of sitting around waiting until a great band comes through (like I could when I lived in DC), my live music horizons are expanding.

My favorite band no one has heard of is Electric President, and my favorite band everyone has heard of is Daft Punk. I'll see the Presets every time they play within 250 miles of me, and I wish the Kings of Convenience would.

I've had dystopian phases with Sinclair Lewis and Huxley, and I've had sci-fi phases with Heinlein and Gibson. Lately I've been realizing why Stephen King is a thing. I've read a lot, and I wish I'd read more. I plowed through The Hunger Games at a business conference in San Jose, and I'm only a little bit self conscious about it.
