ABOUT ME

Enjoy working and playing outdoors, running 10K's again (working toward half-marathon), love my two grown-up children, like having friendly and responsible housemates, enjoy sharing our wonderful world with my fellow Earth species and natural objects. Enjoy summers in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio ... and ... winters in Phoenix and Scottsdale Arizona and the Southwest. Caddie for golf professionals at courses in Ohio and Arizona and around the country. Umpire High School baseball in OH and AZ and enjoy umpiring at Cooperstown Dreams Park at least one week each summer. In Arizona volunteer at the North Scottsdale's Foothills Animal Rescue. And do my best managing my home full of housemates.

PHILOSOPHY

There's much to observe and to learn. Continue to find fulfillment and seek enlightenment from observing, listening, smelling, touching, feeling, reading, studying, learning, and sharing thoughts and ideas of tangible and real concepts and experiences. Along with others who are also curious, seek to sense and understand our world and universe as it is. I think we humans as a species would benefit if we continue to evolve our intellectual awareness (i.e. pull our heads out and grow-up). I strongly believe that the sooner we dump all religions ... all of them ... on the ash heap of history ... the better off we will be. We would benefit if we also turn away from other similar superstitious stupid stuff like astrology, tarot cards, reading tea leaves and palm reading. If we seek truths with an open mind and free thinking, then we have a better opportunity to find those truths, and in so doing, achieve greater awareness and fulfillment.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While working in Arizona, stumbled into couchsurfing during trips back to Ohio, resettled summer of 2012 at my Lake County Ohio home east of Cleveland and began to CS Host ! ... joined the Cleveland CS Monthly Potluck Group and enjoyed the Taste of Couchsurfing events in August and Sept 2012 ... in October 2012 while headed back to Phoenix & Scottsdale surfed again in St Louis and in Tempe ... hosted in Scottsdale (in a very sparse apartment) and enjoyed the metro-Phoenix CS Group's end of summer BBQ and Friendsgiving Dinner in November 2012 and Friendsmas in December 2012 ... then one week later ... enjoyed Cleveland CS Party-Like-There's-No-To-Maya up to midnight December 21 2012 ... then we realized our CS world was ok and it was just another awesome CS party

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In March 2012, picked up a CL RideShare in Flagstaff AZ and dropped her off with her Host in Albuquerque. Didn't know about CouchSurfing. They invited me to crash before I headed out the next day. was introduced to a whole new sub-culture ... so cool

Have enjoyed two separate stays with Host Laurie-Lou in St Louis during trips from Arizona to Ohio.

In August 2012, finally CS hosted ... first Nina travelling across country to NJ ... very next day ... Debi and John travelling from WI to CN ... then Maike and Hanna from Germany travelling the USA ...

enjoyed the Cleveland CS Monthly Potlucks in August and Sept 2012

In September 2012, hosted Jiao Yanwen, Zhou and Yuan from Athens OH to Niagra Falls NY ... then Sarah and Cole ... then Alexis and Ben ... both on grand tours of the USA ...

In October 2012, hosted Nancy also on USA tour ... and at the same time ... Johannes leaving Milwaukee where he worked as an intern for six months enroute to New York City and back home to Germany ... and ...

while headed back to Phoenix & Scottsdale surfed again in St Louis and then in Tempe ...

in November 2012 ... caught the metro-Phoenix CS Group's end of summer BBQ and then the Friendsgiving Dinner ... and hosted Lea, Nina and Esther from Switzerland in my Scottsdale Arizona apartment ...

in December 2012 ... pigged out (brought ham) to the cheerful Phoenix CS Friendsmas Dinner ... and survived the Cleveland CS Party-Like-There's-No-To-Maya

in Winter 2013 in Phoenix enjoyed Salsa & Blues & pot-lucks & Phoenix Art Museum meetup & Scottsdale MOCA & the Botanical Garden & Superbowl Party & Axe's going-away-party & Blues & Salsa ... can't get enough Blues and Salsa ... & other good stuff

In Spring and Summer 2013 back in Ohio enjoyed the Cleveland CS community and hosting again ... including the awesome CLE CouchCrash ... and taking surfers to the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame and Museum ...

In early Fall 2013 surfed in Tennessee and then in North Carolina ... got to meet Maya in South Carolina

In late Fall 2013 surfed in Huntsville Alabama ...

And ... Then ... drum-roll ... Dec 2013 ... Epic Trip

Witnessing the birth of my two wonderful children (OK that's two things ... since I have two kids ... one girl and one boy and they were born years apart ... but ... if I had to chose which birth was more amazing ... it would have to be ... yea right ... More recently, I've shared my experiences and knowledge with respect to being a Professional Golf Caddie ... and continue to share High School Baseball Umpire Rules and Mechanics ... From my technical resume the most recent work has been Environmental Remediation of Hexavalent Chromium Contaminated Ground Water ... need to brush up a little since I've been away from it for a few years ... ditto Space Station science equipment and instruments, low-gravity materials research, data acquistion and control system implementations in refineries and chemical plants, Air Force in-flight air refueling, private pilot, machining, welding and woodworking ... in volunteering for the Humane Society, Red Cross Disaster Services, Crisis Center Hot Line, Father's Support Association, Big Brothers and from being an RA and advisor in college a few years ago, have some insights with respect to personal and social needs and issues

Have been travelling more and more related to caddying for golf professionals on the web.com and PGA Tours ... for those hosts who are interested can provide free passes to the tournaments ... twice have coordinated my hosts children attending the events golf clinics which introduce the game to young children ... both times the clinic gave each child a free golf club :-) ... but most of all ... enjoy sharing interesting conversation and enjoy talking about prior travels and homes while looking at google maps ... shrinking our world ;-)
