About Me
I am an accountant and work about 50 hours a week. recently graduated from Grad school December 2019. My final semester was spent studying abroad in Singapore and Japan. This really gave me the travel bug and hope to get out of the country again soon. My goal is to be able to work remotely with my new degree (Masters in Business Administration with a specialization in Data Analytics)
My girlfriend and I basically live together, 99.5% of our time is spent at my house, 100% LGBTQ friendly. Racist and homophobic, please do not request to stay.
No pets live there, no pets allowed. Our time is often limited to go out on the town but we have a list of suggestions if you are interested. When free time is available, we are happy to show you around the city. We love sharing meals with guests and getting to know others, but please don’t assume that we will feed you every meal.
I love to travel and hope that my MBA will offer more opportunities to work remotely so that I can incorporate more travel into my life.
In my opinion, April is the best time of year to visit, we have plenty of festivals and the weather is lovely. October is also nice (this year just about every weekend in October already has guests coming to visit) I also have a Jeep and love to drop the top and cruise the streets when the weather is nice. It would be fun to show you around if timing /schedules allowed.
I typically do not host during Mardi Gras season.
In my free time, I coordinate events for a group called Queer Takeover New Orleans. (Feel free to join) It’s organizing queer outings and meet-ups in and around NOLA. We organize a fun variety of outdoor and indoor activities focused on bringing community together. Sometimes we do things that involve having a few drinks, often we don't, but our goal is to create fun spaces for our Community that does not solely revolve around drinking culture. You will always be welcome to join us on any outing that we may have scheduled during your time here.
We live in a 3 bedroom 1 bath which our 3rd room is available, it has a queen sized bed. (free, just keep clean, bring your own toiletries and feed yourself).
You would share a bathroom with both of us.
I would ask that you are mindful of scheduling bathroom time on weekday mornings as I have to go into the office Mon-Fri.
My girlfriend works in an office from the house, so she is often there but in meetings and working most hours during the day, so we ask that the house is mostly quiet during the day during the workweek. She is also in an online MBA program and will be traveling abroad for her studies in October. If you've made it this far into my profile, congratulations, I know these can be a bit exhausting when searching for a place to stay. When sending your request, please include that you understand the expectations for quiet hours during the workweek, that you will bring your own toiletries and are expected to supply and prepare most of your meals. I know this may sound a bit over the top, but I've had experiences with guests eating my lunch, using my soap (yuck!) and not respecting the quiet hours, so lessons learned there. I also want to know that you've read my full profile and not just a copy and paste request. I open my home up so that I can make meaningful connections with people, not just a free space to stay. Also please note, in general, I don’t usually allow guests to stay in the home if no one is there. I am mindful of when guests are scheduled so I do my best to ensure that one of will be there most of the time.
Harahan is just outside of the city of New Orleans, but it is pretty easy to get an Uber or Lyft to and from our place. There is a bus stop about 2 blocks away, however, I would not recommend counting on public transit, especially to get to my home. It’s a bit more reliable getting into the city. Typically a 20 min ride using Lyft or Uber or 1hr 15 min public transit to city center.
***just message me with dates and we can see if it works with all of our schedules. Prefer weekends and generally max out around 3 nights
