About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy my life, meet new people, experience new things, make great memories
ABOUT ME
30, outgoing, well-read, adventurous, prone to sleeping in, and looking to travel and work around the world. Favorite memories: hiking up mountains with my father near the fairy-tale castles of Bavaria; getting lost and finding myself again in Venice; Driving like it was an action film on the dangerous streets of Tijuana; hating every moment of my hot and dehydrated life as I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC; playing music for spare change on the streets of Las Vegas; getting drunk on delicious white wine and kissing friends goodbye on my last night in Vienna; serving the homeless in Toronto; hiking the Great Wall of China, scuba diving among the reefs of Komodo Island national park and the Great Barrier Reef; exploring the Ruins of Angkor Wat in Cambodia; exploring ancient and crumbling villages in the mountains of rural China, climbing a volcano in Ecuador, and roadtripping across the US, visiting 18 major cities and 10 national parks/landmarks with my best friend.
PHILOSOPHY
.
Do good, be just, and spend little. Experience as much as you can.
The more sleep people get, the more peaceful the world is.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a bunch of people and will soon be looking to surf myself.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted people from Canada, Germany, Iran, Australia, France, and more. I've made friends with fellow couchsurfers in the USA, Austria, and China. I have surfed couches/floors/beds myself in Turkey, Norway, Bulgaria, France and Spain.
Interests
A little bit of everything. Except marathons.
I play guitar, sing, read a lot of non fiction (and good fiction).
I'm pretty nerdy in my interests.
I am passionate about learning new things and helping people.
I love photography and am getting started in videography.
I think permaculture, and the sustainable lifestyle it often accompanies, is one of the best ways to change the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed a waterfall in California. Then waded through the river right above the waterfall and looked over the edge. I had video footage and ample pictures, but my laptop was stolen later on during that same trip and all I have is a couple pictures from the beginning of the climb from my phone.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm open to learning anything. I can play guitar, although I'm not fantastic. I have a deep knowledge of theology and many aspects of history. My Spanish is bad and my german borderline nonexistent, but better than nothing I suppose. I have been a lot of places and met a lot of people. I have worked in many industries so can offer some perspective there. I spent 5 years in China and can teach you a lot about life there and some basic chinese. I'm not sure what all I can teach aside from guitar and some academic things, but I'm willing to learn almost anything. Especially practical skills, like woodworking, electrical, car maintenance/repair, cooking, sewing, gardening, etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I spent 5 years in China and can teach you a lot about life there and some basic Chinese. I am the owner of a PDC (permaculture design certification) and can teach you about the ideas and goals of sustainable agriculture and some of the designs of it. I can share stories, dad jokes, and my photography skills.
