About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel back in time.

ABOUT ME

Aaagh, Christ I hate these things. Umm, I'm creative and passionate, I guess? Very artsy, that's for sure. I love movies and theatre and poetry and music. I'm mediocre at everything and remarkable at nothing. Kinduva jack of all trades. Thusly, I study literature (big whoop!), English and Hispanic to be specific, but I love history and politics and philosophy and all that useless jazz.

I'm currently doing an exchange program for a year at the Universidad de Salamanca!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nada aun! Pero ojala pronto. c:

Interests

poetry slams, making music, used-book stores, the night-time, lindy hop, sunny windy days, putting on clothes right out of the drier when they're still warm and it feels like god is personally cupping your genitals.

Music, Movies, and Books

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Annie Hall, Fight Club, Pan's Labyrinth, Abre Los Ojos, Equilibrium, Donnie Darko, Amelie, Star Wars, 500 Days of Summer, etc.

Aidan Knight, Bon Iver, Bright Eyes, Broken Social Scene, Dan Mangan, a lot of old jazz and swing, Feist, the Fugitives, Gotye, James Blake, Jasper Sloan Yip, Jorge Drexler, Portishead, Reverie Sound Revue, the Smiths, and a lot of other stuff.

But books! - books are for squares. I just flip through them and pretend to read. Four years into literature and no one's noticed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ummm, iunno about amazing, but one moment that definitely stuck with me was doing the Ignite! spoken word poetry showcase a couple years ago with some awesome poetesses (is that even a word? it is now). Or, or, just being in Chile with the ol' family. I miss those guys like crazy. You just don't get that kinda warmth outside South America. Alternatively, I could also say being with my peoples in Vancouver: some crazy-cool friends and talentsome acquaintances thataways. Especially at VanSlam. If you're ever in Vancouver on a Monday night, check out the poetry slam.

Teach, Learn, Share

Umm, I can kinda play guitar? And drums, some drums. And a little bit of harmonica.
I can kind of swing dance? Not a lot, but I love me some lindy hop or charleston steps. I'd love to learn more!
Oh, and I do some performance poetry / spoken word / poetry slam / whatever you wanna call it.
