About Me

CURRENT MISSION

in order to write what i know, i must make the things i know to be as interesting as possible

ABOUT ME

in consideration to life, i feel as though i have begun it very late. into my twenties to be more specific. the time where i was to open my eyes to adulthood and the ever-changing distance away from selfishness was suppose to occur when high school ended, but the entrapment of my parents' house had me believing that travel was a luxary and learning about the world would be something to partake in when i "was older".
i believe i am old enough to stop taking occupation so seriously, that travel should not wait until your bones are too tired to enjoy it, and that now is the time, more than ever, to connect to people you'd never expect to meet.

PHILOSOPHY

i always knew in my heart that i live to love. for a long time, i bought into the idea of marriage and settlng down, but it was just recent that i've realized that committing to sharing a life and raising others' lives in a single place is a sacrifice best done when one is done thoroughly searching one's own life.
so in search of love, one must learn news ways to do so, in people, in places, in inatimate objects.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

spare a few days of your life and get to know me face to face. sleep on my couches. they're pretty comfty. in exchange, share with me why you came and where you intend to go next.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i can't say that i've had any couch experiences anywhere outside of the states, but i've been to different parts of the US and experienced many different couches and beds here.

Interests

learning new cultures, having new experiences, and meeting new people should be a given.
in consideration to personality, i guess i'm still figuring that out, trying my hardest to determined to know myself best through experiences and not the evaluations of my peers. as far as i know, i love fish, what i want to say i'm good at is writing and sketching. i'm very maternal and know in my heart i'd be a great mother. i enjoy going to 80's and 90's nite in Santa Barbara, and impromptu dance floor dancing is one of my fortes. i love going online to read articles off of reddit.com, mostly environmental and technology. plus, there is nothing more attractive than a great smile, confidence, and passion.

Music, Movies, and Books

for the time being, i am discovering books written by gene wilder. but on the regular, i love reading newsweek, the ventura star, and vogue magazine. i refuse to read any of the twilight series because it would be betrayal to buffy and angel.
i watch a lot of tv, and although you can't watch tv without being bombarded by the inept reality shows, there are a slim picking of good quality television out there.
i love movies. my favorite are time pieces, the ones that pull on my heart strings, the ones that twang at my funny bone, and odd asian cinema.
I am also a big fan of horror films and have had a hard time getting scared. it just doesn't happen. i am always up for any zombie movie. i love them all.
as for music, i've become way too picky. there is this strange notion in my head that the older you become, the more you're inclined to favor the music you listened to when growing up. so far i'm hooked on smashing pumpkins.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

not really sure of the things that would be considered amazing, i'll list off a few things and let you decide.

-looked down into the depths of the earth and cowered.
-escaped a volcano
-snorkelled in the virgin islands
-participates in a biking group of 600+ and in a tribal fury raised our bikes above our heads to chant "CRANK MOB"!

so far...

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach through cooking. i love to cook and love passing along one of my recipes taught by my mother to other people.
i can also maybe teach you how to say "what" in five languages but don't expect me to teach you any other aspects of the languages. i'm getting there.
in exchange you can maybe teach me another word in the same language.
