ABOUT ME

I'm an open-minded and easy-going person that enjoys meeting new people and spending time with old friends.

I immensely enjoy meeting new people and seeing new places. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that I'm usually spend a lot of time reading books. Neither History nor English are necessarily the most socially-minded subjects. I'm also pretty talkative, so I really love meeting friends and having conversation over dinner or coffee. Apart from that, fun is really important. I really believe that a healthy dose of laughter every day keeps away a lot of problems.

I guess when it all comes down to it, I'm not that different from any other person. In the end I really just want to have a good time. And I think there's no better way to achieve this than to spend as many hours as possible with friends and other nice people

PHILOSOPHY

I try not to have a philosophy or any other prefabricated system of ideas with which to approach the world. I'm not sure whether that's even possible, but I guess it would be nice to be able to judge each new person and each new situation you encounter on its own terms. At least that's what I try to aspire to.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love the idea of CS because it really shows how we can make productive and non-commercial use of globalization. This is what global interconnectedness should be about: The ability to meet people from all over the world, talk to them, and get to see their point of view--and all of that without having to pay a third party for it. It's just wonderful to see this kind of open-mindedness towards and empathy for virtual strangers. CS is a great antidote to the parochialism and ignorance that is often the cause of violence and hate in the world
