Hi! My name is Ola (which is a short form of Aleksandra) and I'm 21. I am originally from Poland, but I am currently studying in the university in the UK. I am very much passionate about my degree (maths), but I also love music, languages, movies/literature, and finally being on a search for the cozy independent cafeterias/ the best food/wine places around. Travelling, getting to know people of different cultures and backgrounds and learning their stories is what I love the most though!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was planning my dream trip to NY in the Christmas time with my university friend, but unfortunately she encountered some trouble with obtaining her visa and had to drop out last minute. I have done a fair amount of solo travelling in my life, so I am still sticking to the original plan and going - having found out about couchsurfing not a long time, I decided to give it a go as it seems like a great way to get a full experience of local life and make new friends in a new country :))

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all the kinds of music, starting from classical (I have played the piano for over 14 years), through jazz and dub, ending on D&B /techno (when it comes to going out). In terms of movies and books - the range is very wide, starting from science fiction (II've read all Game of Thrones books twice), ending on a very classic positions (for example Tolstoy/Oscar Wilde) or political/historical literature.
