Overview
About Me
Greetings! I am a sensitive, compassionate person who likes to laugh and enjoy the beauty of life. I am still searching for how to feed my soul while earning a living at the same time, so I am exploring my options and learning as I go. I grew up off grid on a tiny little island in the Georgia Straight and have developed a deep connection with the natural world. I am happiest when I am in a state of gratitude and able to be present enough to be in awe of all the things we tend to take for granted in our modern world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am embarking on an exploration of the USA to find a place to settle. I would like to meet many different people in many different places and hopefully learn some local knowledge to inform my search for a new hometown.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did the West Coast Trail in January (when it was closed) with a dear friend. We had to swim through Nitnat Narrows - which was intense as it is a pretty quick rapid until slack tide. My friend had devised a rope system to get our dry bags across - but it failed. So by the time it was my turn to swim through with my bag the rapids had started to rip at a quick rate. Crawling out of the freezing water on the other side felt pretty amazing. At the end of the trail there was a large river to cross and when I started my attempt the strong current started pushing me out to sea - so I turned back. Luckily a friend on the other side found a little row boat and came and got us... and by this time I was nearly hypothermic. Although it was cold and scary at times - I think back on this adventure and feel such a sense of accomplishment. It showed me what I am capable of and motivated many more adventures since.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Kindness, laughs and honesty. Stories from my clown-like existence. My mediocre cooking creations or my exceptional skills when following recipes. I am super clean, tidy and organized and would be more than happy to contribute to the household in any way I can. I love kids and animals and meeting new people. I make really good pancakes and I always have a stash of maple syrup handy. I am also really into making good coffee and recently acquired a really awesome tool for making really good steamed milk on a stovetop... let me make you a mocha and you will not be disappointed.
