ABOUT ME

My real name is Mateusz but generally most of my friends know me as Olaf. That's the name I usually use. I am 32 years old.

I finished IT at AGH University in Cracov and economy at Cracow University of Economics. Now I work at ABB company, located in Cracow.

I like travelling and I try to do it my way, not with travel agency etc. Hitch-hiking is the best way to do it. I can proudly say that I hitch-hike 29 years! Yes, tha's true - my first car was in 1993, thanks to my mother's courage.

The most important point of my trips are always mountains. I've loved them since my mother first took me to some mountain area - I was probably around 2 years old back then. Cracov, where I live now, is place very close to such places. I get really strange if I don't go mountain once every 2 weeks. I try to expand my passion - I finished a course for mountain guides in Cracov, now I'm a kind of "teachar" there.

I hate stereotypes and I try to fight them.

I hate boredom. I like having lot of things to do though sometimes I regret it, because, I have loads of things to do and little time. But when I just sit and nothing goes on, I... well, it doesn't happen ; )

I'm Catholic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I use CS both travel and host. I try to help everyone who write to me - host of advise : ) Most of weekends I am away from Cracow so it's easier to host in weekdays.

When I travel to same places I always start to look for some couchsurfing possibilities firstly ;)

I love mountains, football (both playing and watching), cycling.

I really love to talk with people who have other hobbies and share our experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have one type of music which I like the most. I think music is too beautiful to choose only one type; I don't care if something is regarded as unfashionable or something.

My favourite film is polish one called "Kiler".

The movie which changed my life is "Into the Wild".
