I'm currently in Italy visiting the family I lived with during a year abroad here. I've been having a great time living in New Orleans the past year and getting a huge dose of music, dancing, and general mayhem. I've been teaching dance and assisting in classrooms with kids since last Summer and am looking forward to a month and a half of training in the North East before returning home to dive even deeper into the world of dance and music education. When I'm not dancing, I'm going for walks, listening to an audio book, hanging with friends, at a museum or show, or whatever else. That's a lie, I'm probably eating ice cream... :) I consider myself a friendly introvert and like adventures as much as I like the little simple things and quiet beauty.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CouchSurfing, travel, and kindness between strangers have been some of the myriad of ways that I fall in love with this world and the people in it. I think such love is contagious (which is a very very good thing!) and something I want to keep cultivating over and over and over.

Couchsuring has made it possible for me to see some amazing places from an insiders perspective and participate in certain training programs, etc, that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford. I'm so excited to finally have a place I can host people when I return to New Orleans in September!! I love meeting new people and giving people a fun way to travel with insider tips.

Oh gosh, this is hard. Lately, I've been reading books about the science, history, and appreciation of music. My mind is being blowwwwn.

I usually like more independent movies that dont follow the traditional narratives of holleywood stuff. I just watched Rams and fell in love with it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on this long drive then hike to a cave in Honduras that was hidden away in a mountain far away from any type of society. It was filled with bat poo and spiders at the start and then turned into a beautifully sparkling cascade of rock and an untouched pool at the end after crawling through a crevice on our stomachs. Caves are very magical. so are fireflies under the stars at night while riding in the back of a pickup truck while hich hiking to the Mayan ruins in guatemala at Tikal with some new friends made in a little hostel. I dunno though- I have lots of cool moments, but most of the best ones are more ordinary things that became amazing because of the soul/beauty/honesty behind them.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a bit of blues dancing, body work, italian, meditation, art appreciation. I'd like to learn more dance moves, how to cook new things, Spanish, woodworking, home improvement.
