About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Uhhh, now I work on my master’s dissertation about the music in Tony Gatlif's movies. It's the last one and half year of studying, so I try to do my best. But... after that I will take a really big journey :)

ABOUT ME

I study at University of Warsaw. The reason I chose cultural anthropology was my trip around Balkans, where I met great people and visited places, which I will never forget. A lot of adventures like night in macedonian monastery, meeting with the man from the forest, nights under the starlit sky, meetings with shepherds, party with gypsies and appointments with musicians cause my thirst for knowledge and more and more adventures. Especially I'm interested in traditional culture and music. But I don't want only read books about it - I want to see the beauty of the world, meet people, talk and sing with them. Just to be. On the road!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: folk, alternative rock, indie rock, experimental, jazz, blues, balkan music, classical music (especially minimalism).

Books: Albert Camus, Julio Cortázar, Maurice Maeterlinck, Edward Stachura, Andrzej Stasiuk, Bohumil Hrabal, Bruno Schulz, Tove Jansson and...
Zbigniew Nienacki - he wrote the best polish adventure books for children, I've read them many times and I think they are one of the reasons I love and I need travelling so much. Last time I've read "White Fang" by Jack London and I think it's one of my favourite books.

Movies: "Tous les matins du monde", "Into the wild", "Cría Cuervos", "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain", "Tangerines", "Bright Star", "Once" and almost all of the movies of these directors: Tony Gatlif, Emir Kusturica, Luis Bunuel, Jan Jakub Kolski, Wojciech Jerzy Has. The most important one and for me the best is "Transylvania" by Tony Gatlif.
