About Me

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME SHORT AND IMPERSONAL REQUESTS. I get a lot of requests, and I don't like reading ones that sound like hotel reservations.

I AM NO LONGER IN THE REGION AT THE END OF JUNE.

feminist, humanist, hiker, biker, cook, lover of nature, swimmer, girl in tree

My name is Ola.

I'm very open at first but get shyer as you get to know me.

Nature is an important influence in my life. The best way to experience it is on foot.

I want to study law and human rights

I'm lazy and I don't want to keep typing.

Whatever else you want to know about me, you can learn for yourself rather than just reading it on the internet. I'm a very honest and open person and always speak my mind, assuming I find the right words.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I moved into my tiny apartment not too long ago. I don't have a lot of room, but we'll just have to cuddle. I don't think I'd be the best host, as I'm quite busy with school, but if you need a place to stay my futon is all yours.
I used to throw big CS parties and have lots of people stay in my old house. I wish I still had that much room for that sole reason!
When surfing, I like to spend time with my hosts and get to know them (assuming they're up for it of course). I like sitting down with a nice meal and swapping stories or going out dancing and exploring the city nightlife. It all depends on my host!
CS allows me to make friends I would have normally never had and for that I am grateful. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had the pleasure of meeting many amazing people and seeing some really cool places. I prefer staying with families because I can learn about customs and cultures first hand, but I know those kinds of hosts are rare.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to reading, I like historical or dystopian fiction.

Movies:
I like horror, zombies, historical fiction, sci fi, and dystopian fiction
Some movies I'd recommend:
Shun Li and the Poet/ La petite Venise/ Io sono Li
Submarine
Hunger Games
anything by Wes Anderson
Poulet aux Prunes/ Chicken with Plums
Persepolis
anything Miyazaki (but I really loved Le vent se leve)

The Graduate

I also really like series, like many people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-got back to my studies after a two year break (one of the happiest moments of my life)
-hiked and skied in Europe's largest volcano
-had a pillow fight in a night club
-fell in love
-watched the sea change colors every day while biking along the shore
-moshed till I was bruised and bloody
-climbed cliffs to get from place to place in Cassis
-skied down a trail that was so long it took me from morning till nightfall
-parasailed with my equally adventurous, very cool mother :)
-hung up side down off the edge of a cliff because I could
-explored beautiful ruins in several different countries
-bathed in beer
-slept on many floors and couches and met many cool people

Want to know more? Let's see how our friendship develops, and I'll tell you. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to know as many languages as possible before I die. I believe everyone has something to teach me, and the more ways I can communicate with people, the more opportunities I have to learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences, and I'll try to make you laugh. I try to be as helpful as I can around my host's home. Please do not hesitate to ask me to help you with household chores.
