About Me

Currently studying in medical faculty in gießen in germany as an exchange student, seeking for someone to meet :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, to find places to stay free (do I have to clarify this..:) and meeting with different people is a good reason to be here.

Interests

I like reading since my childhood.

I am currently interested in history of psychiatry.

Das Leben ist zu kurz, um Deutsch zu lernen, but I believe I started to have fluent conversations, endlich :).

I was interested in Maths in the high school and went to "nesin mathematics and philosophy village" created by a mathematics professor.

My relation with literature is a bit complicated. My aunt was a literature teacher and she is retired now but I have always believed that she is also a pedagogue because the books she gave me and recommended to me during my childhood shaped my personality and and -at least that's what I believe- turned me a more sophiaticated person then I had been before.

Since my childhood, I go to my grandma's summer house in Kuşadası( a seaside city in Turkey closer to samos island in greece -where phytagoras was born). So that's because -although I am not a professional- I like swimming so much.

I like food, cooking and tasting new cuisines(basically everthing concerns food :). Turkey is really rich about that because there are really different kind of cuisines. For example, Aegean cuisine is similar with greek cuisine, but on the other hand, southern cuisine has similarities with middle east. So I consider myself as lucky since I was born in such a rich cuisine synthesis.

And during my language learning process I had some superficial interest on linguistics and how people can acquire a language like a child.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like traditional turkish music and greek music(especially rembetiko), some old blues and jazz pieces, cesaria evora and what sounds nice...

I like reading. Gabriel garcia marquez, susanna tamaro, italo svevo, oguz atay and biographies of different sort of people and other writers that I cannot remember now...

I like cult films. In high school, I tried to finish top 250 list in IMDB. I used to watch some festival films in those times But now trying to watch and analyse all these movies comes to me so tiring. Now when I want to watch something, I usually prefer tv series. Especially I recently watch "It's always sunny in california". It consists of just bullshits and also makes me laugh. And actually that's what I'm looking for..:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming in the see at the middle of the night. It was actually quite impressive and I think I did this more then one.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm currently learning german and want to improve my french. I believe I can help making practise inenglish and turkish and if someone is interested :) And of course I would be appreciated to listen different people's experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm ok with anything. Just it would be really nice if they didn't attempt homicide..:)
