ABOUT ME

We love to meet different people and explore different cultures and we are NOT just saying that - we married another culture - we explore every day..

It's not all great and wonderful though. We have to admit. We have very different sets of opinions and we also encounter many misunderstandings.

However, it's ALL worth it ! We feel so blessed with our cultural differences and we love to laugh, understand and forgive - we feel we grow everyday because of our different background.

In fact, so much so that we have also decided to make our cultural differences our way of living. To travel, meet new people and write books and make films about our journeys and the people we meet along the way.

The first project is a book on happiness in the Americas. A one year journey that will take us to all the countries of South and Central America.

This journey have just started... Nov. 2013.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We know we won't have enough time in all of our lives to do all we would love to do, to see all we would love to see, to meet all the people we would love to meet, to learn all we would love to learn, to share all we would love to share... but we would like to do it as much as possible!

Couchsurfing is a unique community full of people that share our passion and we can think of no better place to connect, surf and host people from all walks of life.

Interests

Ole is a filmmaker. He loves telling stories. For movie theaters and for TV. He is currently working on his first book - with Carla. Carla is an architect. She loves design and constructing houses. We both love to drink a good bottle of redwine, or a glass of cold beer with friends or our families. We love to laugh, have fun and enjoy every moment.

Music, Movies, and Books

We both love the movies of Lars Von Trier (A Danish Filmdirector).

Ole has a love for.. hmm... small independant movies. Carla tends to enjoy horrorfilm and Hollywoodfilm. Here's a cultural difference!

We love jazz, samba, salsa, rock.

We are both people who enjoy going out and dance the night away.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We met each other in Rio de Jeneiro. We did not speak each others language. In fact, we could not communicate at all. On top of this, Carla had to fly back to Ecuador the day after we met. Needless to say, things did not look good...

However, Ole made a quick decision, went to the airport, bought a ticket and flew after Carla to Quito, Ecuador. We stayed 10 days together - and despite of language barriers, cultural barries geografical barries - we decided to get married.

We did not use our reason, we just went along with our hearts.. we have never regretted it... Limits exist only in the mind...

We hope that we can continue our mission, not only in the Americas, but all over the World - and we would love to meet YOU - to share our experiences and our culture with YOU.
