Overview
About Me
My life has quickly become overly hectic and will be for the next year or two, so please don't be offended if I do not reply as I am likely to be away and unable to host for the forseeable future... :(
CURRENT MISSION
Work and study full time with occasional weekend missions on hills / mountains.
ABOUT ME
I'm passionate about the environment, the outdoors and the remaining resources on this planet (especially clean water!)
I'm finding the daily grind of 40+hrs of work per week is not likely the best model for me. (Why work so hard to pay for stuff that you will eventually throw out in a year or two? )
PHILOSOPHY
Take care of others and they will hopefully take care of you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed a few times in Canada years ago and we used to host a bit in NZ, but my ex took care of that account so I need to start up my own now.
I like meeting new people and sharing experiences (e.g. stories, food, adventure, books, etc). Couch surfers just tend to be very open and friendly.
Interests
music, learning spanish, biking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, climbing, packrafting, starting to get into snow sports, volunteering especially in developing communities.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music... alternative, trip hop, electronica, hard rock, grunge (yes I still love that), etc...
Movie: Blood Diamond - had a profound impact on opening up my eyes to industry and the outside world and being conscience of where your products / purchases come from.
Books: I don't think I have a favorite one yet. Still working on that. Emergency Sex; the big truck that went by; Chasing Chaos; the humans; 80,000 hours are some of my recent reads.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ascending Mt Rolleston and sliding down the Otira slide was just amazing. Didnt think I could ever do that sort of thing with my dodgy knees.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've biked 1800km in a span of 2.5 weeks, as a 'fun' summer vacation trip. It's nice to live out of 2 small bags and camp every night... until it rains sideways.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook (vegan food really well);
play guitar and sing (fairly badly);
I pick up after myself and generally leave a place cleaner than before I arrived;
good conversations and weird work stories; inappropriate jokes.
Countries I’ve Visited
Bermuda, Botswana, Ethiopia, Greece, Italy, Peru, Solomon Islands, South Africa, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
Australia, Botswana, Canada, New Zealand, Peru
