About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discovery and exploration.

ABOUT ME

Born the 25th of 12, 1987.

During my life I moved around a lot.

I am a practicing artist with the focus on conceptual-art, music and sculpture.

PHILOSOPHY

In 2017 I graduated from the art academy (AKI ArtEZ) in Enschede, The Netherlands.
The past half year I have been working on many new and exciting projects and exhibitions.

In art as well as daily life, I care a great deal for the bigger picture and to understand the origin of situations and concepts.

Since art, in my personal contemplation, consists of the expression (in any form) of the abstract mind (feeling, thoughts, memories) this more than often left me with simply being captured in thought about drawing coffee, listening to records and dreaming. This changed in both my work and attitude to life, where im much more actively working beyond my comfort zone.

Most of the typical 'dutchguy' aspects aren't applicable. So no, I did not bring weed. HOWEVER, I will wear the wooden shoes. Yes. They are real wood.

I enjoy solving problems, but dislike unnecessary issues. That said I'll most likely attempt to avoid those issues all together. Call it conflict evasion. Also am not a big fan of unfair situations.

Started travelling at age 15 with friends (Norway and Germany) and have always found great excitement in trying something new, those experiences are what travel enthicis. For all I know that what is normal for one is extraordinarily for the next and vice versa.

When possible I'll try to cook for you and/or friends. It will be traditional Dutch food most likely. Most likely dutch pancakes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Figuring couch-surfing contains quite the number of people that'd be open to a more alternative consideration of the world, hosting people in the future (after my recent experiences on couch surfing) seems a great way to expand both the drawings on the wall and memories in the house.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first time I surfed at someone's home (which was in Thailand Chang Mai) it got me eager to get more invested in the concept. Mainly because I hate to be a 'tourist' and much rather see the real side of a city/country/person. But it can get rather lonely when you travel on your own (which I usually tend to do) and CS seems to be a perfect way to meet new, interesting people.

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Both times at Glastonbury I have felt moments of truly belonging to a unified kind of species. An animal kind. The moment I felt this for the first time it was like coming home.
Every time I meet someone special (maybe once or twice a year) with whom I have that same connection, unity and equality I feel like coming home again.

Feeling how the wind and rain literally tore me and my friend's tent off us one morning when waking up on a misty mountain top, 2 day's hike removed from civilization with no more food no and no dry clothes. From there and then, I realized how unforgiving mother nature is, but at the same time how amazingly rewarding living close to her can be.

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess we can all teach each other something thats beyond simply "german grammar" or "pizzicato guitar techniques".
