As you know, my name is Olya and I`m 20 y. o. I am open-minded, sociable and always open to new ineteresting and creative ideas :) I appreciate lasting friendship and, surely, common memories with people whom I meet.

Right now, I`m having my academic exchange in the USA (Pittsburgh). I like being here because American culture is extremely diverse and involving! Despite my major is English, I`m taking Drama, Filmmaking and Gender Studies to develop myself :)

Communication with people means a lot to me. Having been working as an English teacher for already 3 years, I wanna say that my attitude to both children and adults is positive and cheerful :)

Thanks to my volunteering experience (1 month in Germany, 2 weeks in Estonia and a bunch of time in Ukraine), I can say that travelling means to me more than just visiting different countries. I`m passionate about it because travelling is about experiencing new cultures, encountering new people and spending a great time which will turn into unforgettable memories with them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here because I strongly believe that if people want to understand all the authenticity and depth of foreign culture, they should live with native, local citizens who can show and tell them fascinating things which others will never be able to find neither in books nor on the Internet.

Music, Movies, and Books

What concerns music, here I have quite a variegated taste: starting with jazz and ending with pop music. My favourite singers are Hozier, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Justine Timberlake, MØ, Zaz, Stromae, P!nk, ZAYN, X Ambassadors, lorence + The Machine, Dua Lipa,John Legend, Eminem, Post Malone, Queen, Frank Sinatra. (It seems a lot but nevertheless :) )
I watch primarilly comedy, melodrama and philosophical films like La La Land, The Judge, Amelie, Mr. Nobody, Genius, The Devil Wears Prada, 50 first kisses, The Hangover, Dead Poets Society, and maany others :)

Teach, Learn, Share

To my mind, it is very essential to share my experince and knowlenge with others in order to broaden their minds. So I do it thanks to AIESEC (NGO) by meeting new people all over the world expanding my horizons and also I break the stereotypes of foreigners about my country as well.
Also, I am of the opinion that all the experience should be interchanged by experiental lerning (I mean practice, practice and only practice! :) )

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe, that the most essential thing that I can share is my own experience and wish of making good friends with hosts.
As one person said, 'After meeting new people you have only one thing that wiil be always with you, and this thing is memorable moments. In contasts to photos, your memories are always with you and are never lost'. And I fully share this opinion :)
