PHILOSOPHY
live and LET live.
In other words, focus on yourself and your truth, and through doing that, give others the space and freedom to live theirs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've used couchsurfing for my drives and trips across the country! specifically driving to and from university in Indiana. I will probably try out CS abroad during this watson year, so we shall see! I haven't had the opportunity to host yet because I've been away in college ever since I signed up and now I am abroad. HOWEVER, my bed has seen a few couchsurfers as my sister is also on couchsurfing and HAS hosted some folks. :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far so good! Very cool self-selective community of very loving, hospitable people! (Gives me a bit of faith in the world- haha)

Music, Movies, and Books
YIKES. I'm half-assing this, sorry guys, but off the top of my head...
movies:
clerks, mallrats, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, american history x, most of Pedro Almodovar's movies, amelie, toy story, fight club, donnie darko, memento
I generally like comedies, documentaries, thought-provoking movies, independent films, and foreign films.
I generally dislike mindless action movies, movies with crap plot/character development, melodramatic love-obsessed chick flicks, most scary movies (I can't stomach gore)
Music:
ooooooo music!!! It's easier to say what I dislike more than what I like!
I generally DON'T listen to pop country, most pop, most mainstream rap, techno and electronic music.
I love the blues, classic rock, jazz, classical, folk, motown, underground hip hop, soul, funk, and I get nostalgic with my 90s music sometimes ;) haha
some favorite artists off the top of my head... Jimi Hendrix, Nina Simone, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Big Mama Thorton, Tom Waits, James Brown, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock, ahhhhh
Books: Hmm.. I've notice that I've stopped reading fiction these days for some reason... Everything I read seems to be theoretical nowadays for whatever reason...
BUT, I was really into Kurt Vonnegut in particular, and Ray Bradbury and Aldous Huxley...and that type of sci-fi genre...where it isn't fantasy but it's set in a futuristic time period, if that makes sense.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I biked for 3 days down the east coast of Taiwan on the brink of a typhoon...not knowing the language or where i was going to sleep or if the Typhoon was going to hit while I was biking
my watson fellowship!!
