ABOUT ME

I was born in cold Russia, in a very beautiful city Saint Petersburg (Leningrad). After finishing my studies of foreign languages (English, German) I moved to Germany (Essen) for a gap year. There I did a voluntary work taking care of mentally disabled people. Now I've been living in Germany for already more than five years. In this year I started my studies of history and information science and am thinking of doing an additional course in computer science.
I am a very communicative person, I love having people around me. I talk on nearly every topic without any prejudices and can deal with every person regardless of his social status, religion, sexual orientation orientation and so on.
I live in Mülheim an der Ruhr and am happily married.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am quite new in Couchsurfing and have gathered no experience yet.

Interests

I am student, and a very diligent one :), so I spend my time normally reading books for my studies. I travel a lot (check my list of visited places :), learn foreign languages, my special hobby is translating subtitles from German into Russian for the films that were produced in Germany but never translated into Russian.

Films: all movies that were filmed by DEFA (a filming company of the former GDR), especially by Heiner Carow; Das Leben der Anderen, Good Bye Lenin

Music: some gothic, some EBM, sone old-hits ("Schlager"), especially from the former GDR

Books: mainly history books on the German history

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most amazing thing that I ever experienced in my life were the Niagara Falls. They are so magnificent and gorgeous that one can just stare at them for a long time!

I can teach you some Russian :) Some years ago I worked as a private tutor of Russian, now I would like to apply my knowledge and experience!
