I love nature, especially birds, good food, art, and travel. I am originally from Russia and immigrated to the United States as a child where I grew up, studied, and established my career in conservation biology and academia. My Australian husband and I spent over a decade living in the United States together and have recently immigrated to Australia.

So far, I have been hosted by others and have hosted a traveler once. I look forward to hosting again once I am more established in Australia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While hiking at night with my husband in Sulawesi (Indonesia), we almost stepped on a giant snake! By giant, I mean 6 meters long and with a head the size of an Australian football! This was a Reticulated Python and individuals of that size or bigger are known to eat people. This animal was so impressive and so beautiful, it was a truly unforgettable experience.
