Overview
About Me
I'm a web developer who also enjoys playing piano, travel and skateboarding.
I love travelling so much but I've been pretty much UK-bound since 2019. However, I keep thinking about California, a place I really loved but did not spend a lot of time, but it has been calling to me both artistically and as an engineer, as England has left me a little uninspired. I love meeting people and full disclosure - I have a lot of juvenile hubris leftover for a 33 year old and am unsure where to channel it. I feel I have a lot to learn about myself and the people I meet will help shape what I do with the next stage of my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Make friends, encounter the novelty of the world, meet all kinds of different people. :)
When I travel I like exploring cities, but also enjoy meeting locals through shared interests or queer nightlife. Love bars, live music, theater but also into long walks in nature.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can go word-for-word on the last 3 Beyonce albums, a chunk of Joni Mitchell, Jacob Collier, ABBA and Regina Spektor. When I was a kid I loved the Beach Boys and Green Day as well as random church music. Since being an adult I've been able to learn some jazz and blues piano and I still feel I've only discovered a tiny amount of the music I'm capable of loving! Liszt, Stravinsky and Gershwin are some of the truest rockstars.
I'm also a big musical theater nerd, with a long-standing obsession with Stephen Sondheim.
Books: Harry Potter, Philip Pullman.
Movies: love foreign cinema and quirky films. Quite like the romance thing, but also into epic weirdness. Amelie, V for Vendetta.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One time in Paris I slept on a bench for two nights to save like 25 Euros on a hostel and "for the experience" and it was not that bad although I think I got pneumonia (it was summer but I get that a lot lol). My last trip to Spain I skated like 200 km in ten days which was surprisingly easy considering (and was a cool way of exploring cities).
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can talk about computers and musicals. I can come up with stupid freestyle dances to almost any song.
Learning: trying to improve languages (mostly decent at Spanish, love to pick up some cool phrases in Arabic and French to motivate me to learn more...)
Share: I can help you cook / bake - share food, drinks and nice times.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hopefully cool, authentic conversation. Really enjoy deep talks. Help to cook & happy to do the cleaning. Give good massages.
