About Me

Mostly open for last minute requests - personal requests

As everyone says: This is the most difficult part, describing myself?! I advice you to rather read my references, those will give you a much better overview of the guy here. So as I am a physicist, I will list some things about me!

1. I love unicorns
2. I study physics
3. My parents are chinese, but I was born in Germany, therefore I'm either considered a potato or a banana (yellow on the outside as chinese, white on the inside as a german)
4. I play the violin. Both the Vivaldi and the Lindsey Stirling style. @Lianggreen on Instagram
5. Traveling (as everyone here)
6. I don't hesitate to talk to people in bars and make new friends
7. I play the guitar. Both the mainstream jamsession and the metal style.
8. I like beer.
9. I've spent 4 months as exchange student in Finland. Weirdest and coolest thing was going to Sauna naked with genders mixed (at age 15!!!!)
10. My passion is kickboxing. Football or Basketball just don't do it for me.
11. I have an older brother for whom basically the same list works. Including the violin, the talking to people.
12. I was born in Aachen but grew up in Nuremberg Bavaria. So in Germany I'm either considered a "Aachener Printe" or a foreigner with weird accent.
13. I play the piano. Just the modern way to jam with people and sing.
14. I love jamsessions. Spontaneously meet up and jam.
15. One of my 3 best friends is an active couchsurfer, too. He is way more references than me but my goal is to overtake hime by 2019. Clemens, I'm coming for you!!!
16. I love Iron Man. If there's any movie I have literally watched more than 50 times, it's Iron Man. And it still doesn't get any more boring. Everytime I feel it and I love it. Actually Tony Stark is one of two reasons why I study physics.
17. There are 2 physicists/engineers responsible for me studying physics. The first, Tony Stark! The second, Leonard Hofstadter! (Fans will know who that is...)
18. I love the Avengers! Big fan.
19. I like Kebap.
20. I was in a french bilingual highschool in Germany.
21. When I'm traveling, one thing that interests me the most is the trash cans. Yes, you've heard me. Is it modern trashcans? Is it old trashcans? Do they contain any figures?
22. Number 16 doesn't mean I don't like Thor as well. Or Groot. I Am Groot.
23. Here's my Instagram https://www.instagram.com/lianggreen/
24. As everyone on CS I'd consider myself openminded, but honestly I have no idea what that even means!
25. I can solve the Rubik's Cube in under one minute
26. My #1 activity with couchsurfers is asking people on the street about the city: What's the best pizzeria in the city? Wanna go there now?
27. If you sit in the bus/plane next to me, there's a great chance I'll talk to you
28. If you're planning to play a living room concert in a foreign city, I'm your man.
29. I'm good at constructing raging cages
30. I love Digimon. More than Pokemon. But that too.
31. One safe way to make me happy when I'm sad are good fries.
32. Or WAFFLES.
33. I think reflecting safety vests look pretty cool.
34. I have no problem eating Spaghetti Bolognese for several days.
35. I'm really bad at studying at home, therefore I mostly study at the library.
36. My favorite spot to study though are trains. Well for one reason because I like trains and for another reason because the student ID in Aachen allows us to travel for free in the whole region. Sometimes I'd travel to Masstricht/Netherlands, study on the way, get a waffle there, and travel back.
37. I did my Erasmus in 2020 in Toulouse, France. It was a great experience even with covid.
38. I did my previous Erasmus (highschool) in 2015 in Finland, pretty cold there, but awesome place to be.
39. My favorite sport according to my friends is walking somewhere really fast and eating a kebab while at it.
40. I love whiteboards. I have a bad memory and thus always also have a notebook with me so I can write just anything down.
41. If I was a bender from Avatar, I'd be an earth bender.
42. I'm a Ravenclaw.
43. I'm doing my Masterthesis at Max-Planck-Institute for the science of light. Basically I shoot lasers around without knowing what I'm precisely doing.
44. My "philosophy" is to take the bicycle whenever possible, e.g. for the city center. But if suitable I will however also go by car instead of riding the bike for an hour. I also like traveling by train or car, but will also take the plane to travel far.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love showing people my home and my culture but also it's much cooler to roll with locals instead of walking around as a tourist. I'd gladly show you around my current city Nürnberg, both the touristic spots and the local spots. Stay at my place, swap some language skills and have a couple of drinks!
