Hi there,
I am new to the couchsurfing platform, but not at all new to sharing my apartment.
So starting with couchsurfing I want to open myself for new experiences and offer my apartment not to friends only but to people from all over.

I am looking forward to hosting people and thereby getting to know them and at the same time share from my own culture.

Currently I am about to go on a trip with my son to London and Edinburgh.
We both haven't had yet this couchsurfing experience and it is also our first trip by public transport abroad.

In the past years we enjoyed going on tour by car, having outfitted it to sleep the two of us.

Since last year I am trying to develop a more sustainable way of traveling. Being a role model for my son is part of it. But getting people and culture to know better will be the fun part of it.

Having not relied on the typical tourist infrastructure in the past let me to couchsurfing being a interesting option to meet people and to get more in touch with the culture when going abroad.

Being in the nature has always been valuable to me. I have loved outdoor activities like hiking, biking, sailing and kiting. In the past three years I have noticed for me a fundamental change in my relationship to nature.

I have realised that nature is not only a fun place to be. Nature has come to me to be important for my wellbeing.

Since June last year I have decided to take action and be part in climate activism and joined a local group of the Last Generation in Darmstadt.

I have realised that immediate action is necessary and that I want to be part of it. The whole of our society's achievements is at stake. The climate change is threatening not only the nature but will lead to a catastrophe for the mankind.

Dramatic changes in the ecological systems are already evident with an uncountable loss of species in fauna and flora. The unaltered behaviour of people and politics in western societies with burning fossil fuel leads to evermore breaking of temperature records.

To bring forth a change in politics by raising everyone's attention to the topic is taking the bigger part of my free time.

Within the climate activist group Last Generation I have found like minded people which share a set of community values that are based on respect, awareness, gender equality and nonviolence and who give one another hope on our way to change society for the better.
