Hello dear Couchsurfing community in The Gambia,

I’m Oliver “Olli” Gaebe, a German travel journalist with a passion for exploring and sharing stories worldwide. Over the past years, I’ve been privileged to promote fascinating destinations such as Gambia, Namibia, Guinea Bissau and various parts of Africa through insightful articles published on platforms like travelindustry.news and hoga.media.

Recently I was discovering and writing about Thailand, the beautiful Philippines, capturing its vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and warm-hearted people and I visited Batumi in Georgia.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm travelling a lot. And mostly I prefer CS hosts as places 2 stay. It's fantastic to get to know open minded and very friendly peoples from a foreign town or a foreign country by CS! The hosts know much more about clubs, local cultural offers and events than the hotel employees. I am very happy about everybody asks for a couch in my own town, I can give back something from the great moments at many CS places ...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS is a great thing! After one year I can judge about the system and the CS-peoples behavoir: perfect, great, open minded! In 2010 I lost my sweet (crazy) mobile home in Greece during a shooting and now I can continue my travelling a cause CS! THANKS a lot for this fantastic organisation. I disclose my secret: CS is my favorite site in the www! I got to know by CS many open minded and nice peoples. I try to travel by CS only. Couchsurfing: the most important invention after car, telephone and internet ... ;)))
