About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I love getting outside and exploring, meeting new people and getting into local food, music and fun times!

ABOUT ME

I'm from the bush near Auckland, New Zealand. I was also lucky enough to live in Melbourne for almost 10 years - everyone was so welcoming in Australia and I got to explore much of that beautiful country. I then went on an amazing 4 month trip to South America in December 2013, met some rad people and had some awesome couch surfing experiences! My last move was to an English seaside town in 2014. Ive been there ever since.

I love meeting people from all over the world and hearing their stories. I love the outdoors and spend most of my time walking, mountain biking, surfing, hiking and strumming guitar.

PHILOSOPHY

Give first, then receive. Seek first to understand, then be understood. Tread lightly. Smile. :)

'There are no strangers here; Only friends you haven't yet met.' ― William Butler Yeats

Happiness is pretty simple: someone to love, something to do, something to look forward to.” ― Rita Mae Brown, Hiss of Death

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a lot of people both in NZ, Melbourne and now Brighton UK. Sometimes I even remember to ask them for a reference. 😁 I have run a few Surf camps for travellers and that was awesome. I often met people on my travels and then host them when they came to my town at the time. Brighton in summer is particularly good..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Really awesome. People are amazing and I couldn't have been any luckier with the folks I've met and stayed with. Life long friends have been made, offers to visit NZ and plans to meet up further down the road. What an amazing community this is!!

Sitting alone in the surf at a deserted beach in New South Wales, watching millions of drops of rain fall all around me. Watching the sun rise on Uluru. Sitting in the waterfall in Kakadu. Floating through the oldest rocks on earth in Karijini NP.
