About Me

I'm a contemplative, friendly guy. I'm somewhat of an introvert, but I really enjoy making new connections to people and finding new friends around the world. I love photography, reading & writing, and drawing. I love when the sun is out so I can go for day-long walks in the city, but I absolutely won't be the one complaining when the weather asks for a stay-home kind of day -- I LOVE the rain.

The quickest excuse I'd have for a "career" would be to say I've just graduated from the university as an architect (I don't even have my degree yet, so effectively I'm still a student), and recently have been working as an illustrator and looking for new possibilities.

I haven't been posting a lot of photos recently, but here's the link my flickr account:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because when I found out about 'CS and came to understand how it works, I simply could not skip on the experience -- and it's been a blast through and through. Hosting people in my home and opening up to the possibilities they bring is like opening a window on a sunny day and allowing the light and breeze to come inside. Sharing meals and walks with people from all over the world and hearing their stories and experiences made my days a little bit brighter.

Music, Movies, and Books

As much as I love music, picking favourites has never been something I'd be able to do with ease (about anything in life, actually). A quick glimpse at my personal library reminded of the following artists (which I believe are the ones I listen to the most):
Beatles, Brad Mehldau, Gorillaz, Jorge Ben Jor, Low Roar, Madeleine Peyroux, Mombojó, Nick Drake, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Silva, Silverchair, Vampire Weekend, Velvet Underground

I haven't been reading many novels in the past few years, but now I've just graduated from school and so I'm jumping back into that. I love short stories from authors such as Rubem Fonseca (Brazil), and also catalogue-like works of writing / research such as El Libro De Los Seres Imaginarios, from Jorge Luis Borges.

Moviewise, I tend to prefer art films and independent cinema productions, but sometimes I also enjoy myself some Marvel Studios binge on superhero blockbusters. I also love animation films from Hayao Miyazaki, as his film Tonari no Totoro made my childhood that much more vivid with imagination and adventure and kept me coming back for his productions all throughout my life.
