CURRENT MISSION

I would like to encourage and support the development of counter-culture, particularly in the United States.

ABOUT ME

I was born and have been raised in New York City. I spend most of my time reading American literature, criticizing society, and playing music. I am a student at Brooklyn College, getting a bachelors in American Studies and a minor in English and Sociology. I am preparing to undertake fieldwork related to my studies this summer: I hope to compile a survey of Modern day counter-culture, focusing on the social environments that surround rock music. I intend to photograph, film, and record the music and some of situations that surround my band's tour across the United States. When I get back in the fall, I am going to piece all the recordings and images I collect into a compendium that will be accompanied by a literary explication of what I think the counter-cultural experience is...

...or whatever the hell it is they're teaching in school these days. There's never a wasted moment tripping over the relation between the social the self--why the hell do we do the things we do?

In whatever way you can. I am mesmerized by music, especially when it's groovy, heavy, and head-batteringly self-destructive. The American Way is a trip, a difficult, often terrible, mentally crippling and exciting thing to deal with. It's why I am fascinated by the blues, rock, jazz, heavy funk, and metal.

I'm back in Brooklyn, and preparing for an even more Expansively Penetrative American Investigation. I'll be On The Road soon.

DOUBLE UPDATE:
The Second Investigation begins August 1st, 2012 in Detroit!
