About Me
Hey! My name is Olivia, my friends call me Liv. I'm from New Zealand. Currently I'm travelling solo around Europe on a gap year. Read below to find out more about me :')
Not compulsory but if you've got a few minutes spare, here are some good NZ videos you can check out: https://youtu.be/tbazGVrbN-g and https://youtu.be/aEAHLFvD3v4.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm really enjoying hanging out with people. All my experiences so far have been extremely valuable to me and I've met some awesome travellers.
Interests
My sense of direction is terrible, so I often get lost. I find getting myself out of these situations is very fun.
After this gap year I intend to study Architecture at a New Zealand University. My phone is filled with pictures of cool buildings. I also love to paint and draw.
I've been singing as a hobby for ages but recently I'm a bit out of practice. I was in a youth opera group which allowed me to learn a few famous operas (Carmen, La Traviata, La Boheme, Madame Butterfly...) as well as a few choirs. In 2017, I was in 5 choirs. It was an overkill.
Coldplay is an all time favourite. Hozier, Joji, Flume, Gorillaz, Tame Impala, Macklemore, Damien Rice, Florence + The Machine, Mumford and Sons are also often playing in my earphones.
I love good food! Who doesn't? Whenever I travel I always focus on finding the best food.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well I'm travelling solo, that's a huge thing.
Recently in Bristol UK, I saw a homeless boy about my age begging on the street. I sat next to him and offered him some chocolate. I asked him "what's up? What happened that has you begging on the street?". I just wanted to listen. I didn't have any cash on me, so I offered to buy him lunch. We sat and had burgers and I listened to his story. We hung out and then he walked me to the bus station and now I have a new friend :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to share anything music related. Music brings so many people together; it's incredible. If I wasn't doing architecture/art, I'd definitely study opera performance.
If you want to learn how to play chess I'd love to teach you! If you know how to play, I'm very keen to play you.
I can teach you how to solve a Rubik's cube, talk about everything and anything. I'm a good listener.
What I Can Share with Hosts
The Kiwi way of life - relaxed, always taking time to appreciate the small things. Being helpful to others, friendly and accommodating to all people.
I can offer my chatty personality and kiwi accent :) if you host me/we hang out, you may ask me to say "ten, Ben, deck, any word with a soft " e" sound". It's funny for you at least😁.
May you please look at the "Teach Learn Share" bit because I feel like that applies here.
Bless you if you took the time to read about me :-)
