About Me
Hello, I’m Liv! I am born and raised in London, a city I adore. I completed a history degree at university and was teaching primary school children for a few years postgrad, before deciding to take the leap Down Under, like many of my fellow brits. I’ve been travelling since November and am currently backpacking around Australia, after a stint in New Zealand, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. I am currently in Hobart, after being drawn to Tasmania for it’s friendly people, art and hiking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Although I’ve enjoyed meeting fellow travellers in hostels, I’ve joined Couchsurfing as a way to meet locals. I want to learn about your experiences, recommendations and love for your hometowns. I also want to hear about the times you’ve travelled and backpacked around, before deciding to settle. I’d also just love to be in a house again!

Music, Movies, and Books
Good music is good music, I could be swayed into any genre, but my current top artists are Doechii, Paul Simon, Martha Wainwright and Chappell Roan!
I’m currently viewing the TV series Yellow Jackets, White Lotus, Schitts Creek and Anne with an E. It’s been hard to catch up on all the new great movie releases, without a screen bigger than a phone, but I’d love to catch a viewing of Anora.
I’ve brought my kindle along with me and have aimed to read a new book every two weeks. I’m now enjoying the new Hunger Games prequel, after just finishing Toni Morrison’s exquisite ‘Jazz’.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The past year! Solo travelling has been the most rewarding experience. More specifically my skydive in Queenstown, NZ…
Teach, Learn, Share
I’d love to learn about your culture, language and share experiences of the places we’ve lived in! I am currently travelling around with a deck of Monopoly Deal cards, an amazing 1/2 strategy 1/2 luck card game that I’m very keen to teach and share, as it also means I get to play!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love meeting and talking to new people. I can bring conversation to your home, an enthusiasm for exploring your local area, and comparing the different cultures we’ve experienced. I am also keen to help out around the house. I love cooking (happy to be sous or head chef) and any pet care.
