About Me

Interests

I have studied art, crafts and design for almost a decade, and have Charlotte Perriand and Eileen Grey as some of my heros. I enjoy going to museums especially to see fashion and decorative arts.
I can turn into a monstruous nerd if you start chatting to me about astronomy, astrophysics and quantum mechanics..
I have had a fascination for cosmology since a very young age, when around 8 I read The Universe in a Nutshell. It has never left me and I find great comfort in reading about how our universe might have been born and hiw it might die, when I find myself anxious about my own little life. It immediately puts things into perspective..!

I also have a profound love for good food and love cooking for friends and having a good glass of wine but I wonder if it was really necessary to mention it.. I mean.. I was born and raised in south east France..!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
Wajdi Mouawad. I'm a great great fan of his plays.
And I am someone who is fascinated about all kinds of beauty, from the one we find in the sky to the one that some genius' hands and brain create, so bring me the books with all the pictures !!

Music :
I like a lot of different things.. I don'even know where to start.. It can go from Duke Ellington to Jurassic 5, Serge Gainsbourg, Parov Stellar, The Doors, Patti Smith, Crystal Castles, Nujabe, Chinese Man, The whitest boy alive, New Order,The knife, RJD2, Beastie Boys, James Blake, Ludovico Enaudi, Ray Charles, Pink Floyd, Florence+Machine, Sebastien Tellier, Air, C2C, La Femme, Bob Dylan, Rone, Cocorosie, Klangkarussell, Nicolas Jaar, The Nationals, Interpol.. I have a big (ahem.. BIG) crush on Christine and the Queens.

Films :
I haven't been the biggest cinephile on earth during the last ten years, which can be surprising maybe for someone who likes arts and images, and is dating a film scholar, but it is changing now.
I don't have favorite film makers, but can give you few films that have meant something to me.
I have, from a very young age liked Jacques Tati's films, thanks to my dad (He loved him, and Laurel & Hardy. And Chaplin. He liked this kind of humour and I am pretty sure Tati's Mon Oncle is what lead me to study design !
One of my favorite film is Lost in Translation, by Sofia Coppola. It echoes to an old passion of mine for japanese culture and aesthetics. I have seen it dozens of times, and had a habbit to watch it when I had insomnia.
I also love Patricio Guzman's documentaries especially Nostalgia for the Light, I will let you guess why..
