Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to work on a cruise ship as a casino dealer- then i quit. The best part of my job was traveling (traveled around the world: climbed the Great Wall of China, attended a traditional tea ceremony at a Buddhist Temple in South Korea, stayed at a manga cafe in Tokyo, walked in a Glowworm Cave in NZ, hiked coniferous forests in the mountains of Alaska, cycled along the Golden Gate Bridge, went surfing in Waikiki ect.) and meeting people from different countries. As i'm home now i don't get to travel that much, and i'm quite busy as well (having two jobs)- no time to go out and make friends. So i thought i could host people (young, open, nice people) and accommodate them on my couch. Basically, it's not me going around in the world anymore it's the world arriving to my doorstep and coming to my home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I registered to couchsurfing.org looking for a couch when i was planning my stay in New York City in December, 2013. My plan was to move around in the city and stay in different districts absorbing the local flavor. In the end i stayed at my friend's place not moving around... Anyway, that's when i decided that if i ever return to Budapest i'll make my couch available for travelers thus making their Budapest-experiences more enjoyable, memorable.
