When travelling, I rather meet people and learn from them instead of only a guidebook and tourist information offices.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 30 year old woman who lives in the Netherlands sinds already 13 years. I like talking to people, I really enjoy learning peoples motivations and convictions in life, and learn from their views. When travelling, apart from seeing the obvious "must see" things, I always try to find the beautiful, but less commonly known places.

PHILOSOPHY

You don't have to blow out the other person's light to let your own shine.

One doesn't travel to reach a destination, but rather to reach a state of mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've had some really awesome couchsurfing experiences. Oslo, New York, Krakow, Nepal and Cuba are only a few of the places where I met amazing people. Some showed me around, leading me to places I would never have found myself. Some taught me things about local life and culture. With others I had deep and philosophical discussions about important (and sometimes less important) matters. But one thing they all have in common: they breathe the values of couchsurfing, by being open-minded, friendly, and respectful. Meeting such people is a great pleasure to me, and the reason that I will be surfing a lot more couches in the future.

Interests

I would love my hosts to tell/show me some typical things of the region. Like, the best places tourists don't know. Things about local culture, history.. I really like regional food as well :-)
