About Me

I. Andrew X. Pham once said, "The pursuit of exceptional food, great literature, and meaningful adventures is a life-long pleasure." It is as true to the Vietnamese writer as it is to me.

II. I LOVE my job. I translate not just to have something to do, earn fame, buy myself food, pay my rent, but also to make my life a happy and fulfilling one.

III. Don't ask me whether I'm a dog person or a cat person because I'm both. It would be great if you keep pets and by 'great' I mean fantastic.

IV. I don't smoke, drink (excessively) or snore, and I'm not a night owl.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that couchsurfing is reciprocity in nature. The hosts often recommend places that are not well-known but worth going, while the guests share wonderful life stories.
My CS experiences include two days in Yilan (which is in the northeast of Taiwan) and five days in Tokyo. However, I found them through a local website in Taiwan, not here, so I don't have references from them.
Nevertheless, both hosts gave me comfortable times. Thus, I hope to meet more people around the world in this way!

Interests

Reading has become part of my life. It's not always easy to obtain English books in Taiwan, so when I found out the BookCrossing community, I joined immidiately (in 2015) and have released and received tens of free books ever since. I decide to carry some books to read and release during every future trips!

I was in the mountain climbing club in college and have completed more than 25 routes in Taiwan since then. Taiwan is an island with a lot of high mountains. Despite mountaineering, I like boating, snorkeling, and other water sports. I'm looking forward to going skiing, surfing and diving when I have a chance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving from a ten-meter high precipice into the water.
Walking the famous West Highland Way in Scotland for 9 days.
Climbing the highest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to sing Chinese pop songs, will try my best to teach you how to cook traditional Taiwanese cuisine (my cooking skill is not the best, but it's improving) if you're interested, and of course, I can teach you serious Chinese (the characters, some grammar, etc) -- believe me, I'm a very good teacher!

I like to hear local histories. I will be grateful if I have the chance to learn how to cook a few traditional cuisines as well as general pastry or do some handicrafts.
