About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Master (haha okay, maybe a bit of a stretch) get a good grasp on the French language

ABOUT ME

I am a huge nerd and, along with everyone else on this website, someone who loves to travel. I love the French language and want to teach it one day, but before that happens I need to get a better grasp of it. I'm the kind of person who prefers pubs and casual patios to clubs. I'd rather relax with a friends than get all dressed up and go dancing. I'm a horrible dancer, but I don't like that at clubs you can't really talk to people. I like hearing people's stories and connecting with them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just joined in July after a friend told me to check it out!

Interests

I love writing, reading, nerdy things. I am a Harry Potter lover, enjoy all things sci-fi (well almost all things) love a good fandom and enjoy taking pictures/making videos. I'm a bit photo obsessed really! I take probably more than I should.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love love love to read so I really couldn't begin to list favourite books. But I guess a typical staple is Harry Potter. I grew up with those books and they'll always have a special place in my heart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When that volcano went off a few years ago, I was at the airport in Paris waiting to get on a flight to Spain to see some friends. I was 17, by myself, stranded because the trains were on strike. I ended up being very lucky and our airline paid for us all to stay in hotels. I ended up in a hotel about 40 minutes from the airport with a bus full of people who had been heading to London. I was the only bilingual person in our group of 60. The woman running the hotel (singular. One woman) could only speak French. I spent the next two days as a translator. One of my favourite memories because it was one of the more challenging things I've had to face and I think I came out of it pretty well!
