About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a secondary (and primary) native French school teacher who has decided to give it all up and travel. I also dj and organise events in my spare time and might be travelling with a small box of records.

I love meeting new, inspiring people with a zest for life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm planning to travel as long as I can afford and get involved in whatever I find interesting, possibly nature conservation, charity work, teaching...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was couchsurfing at a friend's place in Tokyo living the local life. Couchsurfed a few places in Taiwan so far and loving the connections made, the incredible trust and friendliness of my hosts...

Interests

Music, mainly African/Afro-Caribbean

Independent films
Art galleries
Kung-Fu
Meditation
Yoga (need to get back into it)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like independent films that make you think rather than numb and passive.

At the moment, The Power of Now, and Vagabonding an Uncommon Guide to the Art of Long-Term World Travel ;) given to me by a friend of mine before my journey.

I love music of the live, jazzy, rootsy variety and am involved in the world/afro music scene in London as a Dj/promoter in my spare time...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Co-organised relatively large music events, my favourite being with ghanaian hi-life legend Ebo Taylor.

Sailing from Barcelona to Majorca and Menorca on a tiny boat a few years ago with two other friends and seeing thousands of jellyfish lighting up in our trail at night for hours, under the most amazing starry sky and seeing my first shooting star despite looking for one for years.

Finally got round to get my open water PADI certification.

Volunteered in Pun Pun organic farm and Mab Euang School of Sufficiency Economy in Thailand, farming and building Adobe (mud) house.

I recently completed a 10 day Vipassana meditation course in Kyoto. As an introduction to meditation, that was intense!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am respectful and trustworthy. I like contributing to food costs and cooking for my hosts if the arrangement is to eat together, but I'm also independent and very happy to make/find my own. I like learning about local cultures, languages and share my own.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer respect, trust, gratefulness, sharing food preparation (I love learning while helping), costs, sharing travelling tips, stories, good times, but I am equally happy doing my own thing.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Cambodia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Morocco, Netherlands, Philippines, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In
