Overview
About Me
I am born in France, started my career as artist in contemporary art scene, and made art projects in different countries before to more to Asia.
I am now studying tea and tea culture for more than 10 years and specialized in puerh tea, a mysterious and complex tea family produced in golden triangle.
I spent the last 13 years in South-Est Asia. I have been living in Yunnan, China, Taiwan and Thailand for years, and have been intensively travelling to other golden triangle countries like Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam to study and do researches about tea and tea culture.
I am currently spending most of my time (when I am not travelling in the mountains), in a small fishermen village in the West cost of Phan Nga area, Thailand countryside, practising gong fu cha, keep doing researches on tea and tea culture, writing a book about puerh tea and working as a consultant and tea expert for several tea houses.
My wife, Pei-Shan, is the founder and the editor of an edition house based in Taiwan about graphic documentary in Asia.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We was mainly hosting people until now (with both my or my wife account, Pei-Shan Huang, on Couch Surfing too (Verified user)), mostly in our two previous houses in Yunnan countryside, and out house is open to those coming in the area!
We have also been hosted sometimes by CS users in Asia, and good friends with surfers in Hong Kong and Thailand!

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many things to answer in some words... I love cinema (mainly creative or "author" movies from many countries), music (from metal, rock and punk music to ambient and electronic music, but also Indian pop music, traditional ethnic music and so many other things), and many kind of books, from philosophy to poetry, novels... and cooking books!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
What is an amazing thing? Maybe to have moved 13 years ago to Yunnan countryside in China without any real reason and without speaking one word of Chinese... to finally move again 10 years later to Thailand, without any reason and without speaking Thai language...
Teach, Learn, Share
I am doing researches about tea and tea culture for years, so if you are interested about tea or south East asia culture I have probably some things (and teas ;) ) to share about that...
I also spent more than 10 years to travel in very remote place in South East Asia deep countryside... and have some story to tell if you are interested about.
